Preflight for catalog updates
Compare your original Shopify product export with the edited CSV. ImportProof catches destructive blanks, variant-identity changes, damaged barcodes, and edits you never meant to make.

Use a fresh Shopify product export as the original. Nothing is uploaded by this page.
The checker runs locally with deterministic rules. It sends no product, customer, price, or inventory data to us.

Why compare two files?
Syntax validators ask whether Shopify can read a file. ImportProof asks whether the readable file still matches what you meant to change.

Match product and variant rows by options, SKU, barcode, and position—even when one identifier was edited.
Flag included blanks, option edits, missing dependencies, invalid values, duplicate combinations, and spreadsheet-damaged barcodes.
Pro can keep required identity columns and intended changes while omitting unrelated columns that could overwrite data.
Store configuration, apps, product state, and platform changes can affect an import. Always export a fresh backup and test a small subset before a large overwrite.

No. CSV parsing and comparison happen in your browser. Standard hosting infrastructure can receive ordinary request metadata when you load the page, but your chosen files are never sent by this app.
No. ImportProof detects file-level risks it can determine from the two CSVs. It cannot see your live store, apps, locations, permissions, or changes made after the original export. Keep a backup and test a small subset.
The original establishes the values and variant identities you started with. Without it, a tool can validate formatting but cannot reliably tell whether a blank or changed value was intentional.
